Tammy's Hair Tips: A Regular Trim Will Keep Hair Long & Healthy
You want beautiful long hair so you never cut it, right? The problem is that it never seems to grow as long as you'd like. The ends snap off and break.
Haircuts help to keep your ends healthy and prevent the ends from snapping off. Hair grows an average of 1/2 an inch each months, so that's six inches per year. To keep your hair long and healthy you need to have it trimmed.
If you were to come in every other month for a trim your hair would have grown one inch. We can trim off one-eighth to one-quarter of an inch leaving you with three-quarters of an inch of healthy growth. Following this guideline you should have 4 1/2 inches of healthy growth each year.
When you don't cut your hair for a year you will have six inches of growth, but your hair will be split and damaged.
Getting a trim every other month will give you long and healthy hair. Which is what you really want.
